When I search for my keyword, I find my site listed.. Check the cached copy and there's a message it's gone.
I have another site, similar topic that is linked to it that is still indexed w/ its single page.
Why did it disappear?
Welcome to WW. Now as far as your question. Did you have the site linked to the other before the loss of your listing? If you did not and you linked to it afterward, maybe that caused it to be lost.
If you made any changes to the page such as adding words(kws) or linked to something, that might have caused the effect. Otherwise, it just might be the algorithm changes. Possibly you might have been tossed into the sandbox. And in that case you might just have to wait it out. My suggestion, if you made changes of any kind, undo them and see if it comes back up. Also if you linked to any site, take the link down and see if that helps. It might have been that you linked to a poor website possibly a link farm or one that uses bad seo tactics such as spam or black hat methods.
Try using one suggestion at a time. Meaning, if you adjusted kws, change it back to the way it was before. Then see if that helps. If not keep trying different suggestions and see if one works. Basicly try to eliminate one possibility at time. Weed them out one at a time until you find something. Of course that is if their is something there. Maybe like i said before, the algo change or sandbox.
