Am i the only person to notice the huge changes taking place with Google search results?

Last night a huge change took place but was quickly rolled back.

The entire Google template had been changed - with Google Ads no longer appearing on the right hand side (only top & bottom ads appearing). On the left nav was a bunch of Google services - including options related to Base, Froogle, etc.

I also noticed that on some searches a link to Google Base results appeared at the top of results.

It was very odd - but was not live for long.
The right hand ads not appearing was the strangest thing.

Anyone else see this?

Yeah, that’s right
I’ve noticed that too.
The ads won’t show as they use to.
Now they appear at the top and at the bottom and this dramatically affect the advertising.
Only the top payers will show on the first page.
I suppose Goggle is losing also money trough advertising.
The funny thing is that if you use their browser (FireFox) everything looks just fine.
The ads appear again as they used to.
I wonder if this is another way of forcing the surfers to use their product also forcing the adwords users to raise their bid in order to get more clicks.
Anyway I hope this is just temporary.
It happened before but it didn’t last.

Google has at least two other alternative screen layouts that they are testing for a small number of users.

These tests have already been running for several months.
