The jobs subdomain is hosted by a third party, but is my site with all the links going back to my site. That's the only way I could really do it so it would look/feel like my site.
This sucks because I don't have control over the domain as far as changes and stuff. For instance I can't create a sitemap for it, but I did get it verified for analytics.
The forums is hosted on another server too, but the database that powers it is hosted on my main server. It's a crazy configuration that I had to do to allow clients/affiliates of my forum to also use my database and retain the look and feel of thier site, but allowing me control over the ads and content and such.
I have a bunch of questions about this setup, but mainly, I just have no idea if it's bad to do it that way or not.
Is there a way to make it so that you can use one sitemaps for all three? Is there a way that analytics won't show visitors from subdomain to subdomain as new visitors?
I pretty much stopped using analytics because of that. I check sitemaps, but I don't use sitemaps with it because it's a pain in the rear.
I don't want to get penalized because Google sees a subdomain and thinks it's spam or dupe content or something also.
