Reprinting Articles

Will it hurt other pages?

Will posting duplicate content other than the page that is duplicate content?

We not only have permission to reprint an article, we've been asked to do by an industry organization that is trying to get some information out. I don't care about ranking for this page, I just don't want the rest of the site to be brought down by a penalty.

Do duplicate content penalties ever stretch further than the specific pages of duplicate content?

Put "no index, no follow" in the meta robots tag and you "should" be safe but who knows with Google as messed up as it is.

I've never seen a site-wide duplicate content penalty. Google says they just don't want to show the same content multiple times in their SERPs. The only way I think it would be trouble is if you built your entire site from scraped content, and then again even this often won't get you banned.
