dropped pages returning

Of 101 dropped pages, about 20 came back into the serps today. I hope this is a sign that things are going back to better times.

I see some additions too: about 30 new pages crawled on 04/21 are in; waiting for about 900+ more pages to show up as they were crawled on 4/23.

lost about 30, one came back yesterday. Googlebot heavily crawling in average 300 a day.

to add to my post (too late to edit):
the problem is that pages keep disappearing again and again. For example, my main category pages linked from the index page were indexed just 2-3 weeks ago, yet mow they are no where to be found. There absolutely no way that those pages are dupes as 95+% of the content is different.

Some days I feel like we are all a bunch of Lemmings! Google bangs the chicken coup door and we all run into the corner, pile up on top of each other until we smother ourselves to death.

Anyway, despite me losing everything right down to the basic URL listing, as of Monday night April 24th 2006 I have now graduated to "a basic URL listing with meta tag description" - woo hoo!

Although all those extra pages are old supplementals from January. (Mods - Please delete this post if I shouldn't be mentioning supplementals as I realise the old thread was closed.)

But good on ya GG for listing more pages for me even though they don't actually exist anymore. Still not caught up - eh?

The last 2 days now pages have been in and out of the index. It looks like things are starting to shuffle around now at least. Our main pages continue to rank near the top of the SERPS so it's not all bad.

We weren't expecting a direct response were we, Tigger? I thought gg was asking for data to see if there was any pattern.

No suggestion/admission that there IS a bug, but we could fairly assume that if they do identify one they will attempt to nail it.

So that just leaves us to wait & see... is there any other state of existance for google watchers?

64.233.171.104 is showing a slight improvement from 163 to 171 but the daft thing 64.233.183.99 which was showing 493 is now showing 101! from a site that has 700 pages - complete madness

I do see some pages return back to page one after they were dropped a few pages... altho they are not yet on the same position... but being back on page 1 is good for now :)

It looks like a ray of hope! or is it just some random testing google is doing! ;)
