Is sitemap page spidering limited to 100 links?

Google says that they don't like to see more than 100 links on a page. It's my understanding that Site Map pages are there to give visitors an "at-a-glance" overview of what's on the page. If you have more than 100 pages...that's more than 100 links. If you break up your sitemap into sections, it defeats the original purpose of a sitemap page.

Does google's 100 link-to-a-page limit apply to sitemap pages?

Thanks

No, the google sitemap will index more than 100. It is outlined in the google sitemap program information

The Google's sitemap program can contain all of your pages as mentioned.

A Sitemap on your website should be used to point spiders and visitors to pages and / or sections of your website.

Design what works for visitors, don't worry about robots. If you think you need to put all your pages on your sitemap, then do it. If you've got a heirarchy of pages, that works too.
