It's a long story how he got to this point, but to make it short: He started out 5 years ago with site1.com; the domain name wasn't too catchy, so he created site2.com. They have matching content and are hosted on the same IP, and both sites are pretty well ranked in the SERPS. site1.com has a PR5, site2.com a PR4. He's been living vicariously the past 2-3 years, with me constantly in his ear about getting caught and banned. Anyway...
1. Seeing Google hasn't minded it so far, should he even do the 301?
2. Any special notes with 301'ing domains on the same IP?
