Google Penalizes for being #1! Yes, it's true! Once you are in the #1 Position google WILL NOT let you get any higher, but WILL allow you fall - often drastically!

AdWords (and those vertical searches) are the only results higher then the number one position in Google's organic results. To bad you can't go higher then the 1st position in organic. ;(

I have seen this phenenom too with a couple of my sites. One was returning #1 for several years and is now at #7. I noticed this on a couple of my #1 sites. I have been investigating this for the past couple of years. I will post any results I find.

That just goes to show that it's all about the money, and stockbrokers are now turning the algorithm dials and pushing the ranking buttons at the Plex. Are you serious? Can anyone else verify this? if true, GoogleGuy owes us an explanation! it definitely proves that Google is manipulating serps to push adwords.

Actually, all your web sites are in all Google position results at once for every page and every keyword - and so is everyone elses! Only you don't know it when looking out from the results you see at the moment.

This is the new physics of SEO and this is the answer to all the confusion and gnashing of teeth we see on webmasterworld when it comes to Google SEO.

Yes, that's what's been happening to my site which has been around for 10 years and FIRST on All natural search results for my topic. Since sept 2004 I have been vanishing every 6 weeks or so, and now more often than that. Is that why Google is doing it?. Advertising with adwords is sooo expensive now and I can't afford it all the time--I'm just a small business. They never tell me why, they always respond the same way. Are they doing it so that we will advertise with them?. But the other high ranking sites of my type never vanish. Why me?

I noticed the same thing on one of my sites pre Florida. The site was #1 for a very competative porn star name for a number of years. About 6 months before Florida - the site was doing the same dissapearing act as you mention. Since Florida it has never reappeared in the serps.

What does it mean? My theory is that certain tokens get put through the filter and some don't. When your site dissapears and reappears - the plex is testing adding your token to the barrel. My guess is that next update your site will be at #356 and all sites that link to you will be way ahead of you and you won't be listed for your company name.
