Noted Google engineer Matt Cutts has started a FAQ like site to detail some of the more interesting search occurences and repetitive questions he gets:

Might be fun to 302-hijack it.

Matt will have huge problems to get a decent ranking for his site in Google. Imagine the link spike after Brett started this thread. No doubt, most of these links will come from sites heavily engaged in SEO, which can hardly be defined as natural link building. All the things written down in the Google patent [webmasterworld.com]--where he is irronically enough a co-author--will work against him. The site will be burried in the sandbox until eternity. ;)

Not surprisingly the site is currently URL only in Google. But fortunately for Matt he will eventually get visitors from MSN and Yahoo. :)

This said, welcome on the world wide web Matt, and I hope your site will be a valuable addition to all the good sites already around.

Yes the website died

Matt, see if you can load balance on the G servers. I'm sure they handle the spikes.

Where is the adsense? (I don't recall seeing it when the site was up but can't verify now given site is down) Give in to the greed and make a few bones on the mammoth amount of traffic that you are going to get by your name recognition alone.

In fact, how about starting your own branded line of Matt Cutts products? :)

(I suppose GG will repond that the Matt does have his own line of products - see Google search patent).

Not sure what's up with the webhost. I'd guess it'll be back up in a while. :)

Maybe it's down until he has time to clean up the comments. :-)

Excellent website. No flashy graphics to slow things down, and no myriad menu choices to confuse people. Bravo, his design skills remind me of my own!

But I do hope that he will come up with better content. Or it could be that he is targeting novice webmasters. Fair enough.

If nothing else, it promises to give a whole different perspective to Mr. Cutts.

Glad I finally decided to look into this thread - I had though it was just a link to some FAQ site for Google employees that someone had stumbled across or mock-ed up for a joke.
