It really looks like they let some sites out of sandbox and put older sites in the sandbox, we are seeing this with one of ours

now wouldnt that be interesting?...if the sandbox organic filter was so deep it need its own mini data index to work...so you apply it retrospectively in groups as you gather the extra data that is required to be in permanent storage...of course you would start from the newest and by stage continue down to the oldest..yep!..the rippling efect of the sandbox organic filter....! watch this space...

Oldiesgal,

Maybe some smiles would have helped ;).

For those who don't know frequently the sum of secondary keyword hits and thus income, readership, servers fees, etc ... can be higher than for the main targeted keyword. It is called diversity.

I realize that.
But would 51 pages with each one getting one referral except one that gets 100 also be diversifying?

Powdork,

Not if all your money was coming from the page with the 100 hits.

That is my read on the matter.

I'll be damnned. I now have 2 DMOZ listed sites nowhere to be found while 1 sandboxed site is eeking its way out. This does nothing to alleviate my frustrations with Google - actually makes them worse.

What the h-ll is going on? My old site is gone today! Finally I was doing good. I guess we should wait and see, I hope it isn;t over yet.

There's no way these results will stand: I just searched for a fairly popular search for my category and only the first 2 results belong there. Many of my competitors are missing as well.

I believe my site was finally let out of the Google sandbox. It was on page 13 for my main keyword and now shot up to #4 on page 1.

The site was launched March '04 and is finally ranking up there with Google like it does already with MSN and Yahoo.

Can anybody say why this update is called Alerga?

It has not made me very happy :( In fact I don't see much to be excited about. Some dodgy stuff mixed in where it should not be and some good sites pushed down.

Anyway Alegra? anyone?

Read back several pages and you'll find Brett's answer.

Great. All this update has done my side is add one of my sites TO the sandbox.

It was created April 2004 and had escaped any sandbox penalty until now.

Has this happened to anyone out?

I now have 3 big investments stuck in this thing...

Sometime late last night my site broke free from the quicksand. Referrals are through the roof!

Site is 10 months old.

With super-competitive terms the site is suppressed some but ranking near page 4 or 5.

Wow, I thought I would never get out. I now see what some people say about G being the biggest engine referral. It is still only morning time here and lots of referrals!
