I have a website with both a .com and .co.uk domain. The .com is the main one. Today I have found out that for some reason the .com has expired while I am sorting this problem out people can still get the site via the .co.uk domain. However all my links in google go to the .com. With the google update imminent is there any way that I can forward links to the .com to the .co.uk

Thanks in advance

Don't know of anything that can be done until you get your domain name back. Your hosting company may be able to help you deal with your registrar. Registrars can be very difficult, but a good hosting company deals with registrars often & will help you out -- probably for a fee, but help nonetheless.

Also, there is now a period of time after a name expires during which you can recover it but noone else can buy it. I forget what the term is for that ... but if you move quickly you should be able to get it back.

Good luck.

I had this a few weeks ago
My host got my names back in half an hour.
My advice is to call them and explain.

Happened to me once. Are you sure the .com registration hasn't expired?

Why you are worried about the coming update? Obviously it will be inconvenient to have your .com site down because of the lost traffic. What you really have to worry about is the deep crawl that will determine who is in next months Index - so that probably means you have at least 5 days to sort out your .com before googlebot is released.
