Hi Everybody.

I recently noticed a listing in the serps, very high up for a competative keyword that was simply a placeholder page for a new domain that had not been developed yet. I have a couple of new domains that i plan to develop in the next few months. They are both related to my current developed website but will contain unique content.

Could i place links on my current pr5 site to these place holder doamins so that by the time i'm ready to develop them they will be listed in Google....therfore decreasing the time to get em ranking highly?

Also, how can a placeholder (you know the kind of page the hosting company sticks up) page rank so high for such a competative keyword? It outranked my site which is kind of embarassing.

Hi Buckley,

Personally, I think it's a good idea to do that. Obviously, don't interlink, but this will help your site start getting crawled and developing PR.

One way to do it is to put up 1-2 pages about what the domain will become so it's not just a placeholder and there's some actual content.

Thanks 2 Much.

I won't interlink them but is it okay to link to the one page site (so it gets listed in google) and then link back to my main site (so they can look at info about the subject if they find this temorary site)with a link like say, "until this site is active click here for info on widgets"

Thanks
