I'm needing to find new hosting for my website and am considering using a host (Interland) that uses blueHALO technology? I'm being told that there are no actual IPs involved with this type of hosting but having a hard time
understanding how this is actually possible, and if it is possible, is this considered dynamic IP delivery, and if so, will this have any effect with Google.

IMHO, it is not dedicated ip, it is virtual hosting. It means many sites can be hosted with the same IP. For what differentiate them is the domain name.

It is very common nowadays and there are no problems at all with Google.

Welcome to Webmaster World [webmasterworld.com]

I think your host is talking about shared hosting, you will be using a IP which other domains also use, but when a request is made for the domain, the server will request a specific catalog.
In Unix this is called Virtual Hosting.
More about it at:

And as AthlonInside states, yes it's very common, and not unusual.
