A fluke!?

I have just launched a new site today - linked to it from the home page of a PR6 site this morning. The PR6 Site gets indexed daily.

Now the new site has a PR4 already with only one inbound link.

The domain name was registered last week - so it is all new to google

Is this normal..

under the current climate NOTHING is normal to Google.

That's nothing I did SEO work for a client three days ago and now their two week old site has pr9 ;)
The Google toolbar isn't very reliable at this time when you view sites that hadn't been added to the index.
Once the dance ends (or for that matter begins) then you can really say what your pr is.

Google tool bar is actiong weird. You probably don't have any pr yet.

Try closing your browser then re-open and go directly to your site. (do not view any other sites)

Your probably see a gray bar.

If you come from a site with page rank to your new url, google tool bar with show pr at your new url, same as the one you left.

I have a new url also, and I thought the same thing.

thanks.
