Using alltheweb to get juice in advance of google update

Although the search engine "alltheweb" doesn't seem to pick up all links, it does tell you about all the links it knows about. (Google only displays PR4+ links.)

Alltheweb has just updated, so I can get a rough idea of how many new incoming links I have.

During the month, it told me I had 220, while Google stated 252. Now it says 280, so I can assume I have around 300 incoming links now :)

It's not conclusive info, and it doesn't asy much about your pagerank, but it's still juicy - in these times of update-famine. :P

Hi Pegasus,

I'm not sure this approach is reliable...

On my site Google reported 262 backlinks when AllTheWeb was reporting some 1,900 (don't remember the exact figures).

ATW now reports 3,364 backlinks which is a nice improvement over last month's figures. I wish Google was reporting that number ;)

You don't have a gigantic forum or something, pumping out low-PR pages, do you? :P

ok ... found it ... same in google :)

all my backlinks on alltheweb are at least 2 weeks old. i recognise the locations as the first 5 or so sites i publicized my new site at.
