Log Files to check for IP addresses?

Getting indexed

I run two Yahoo stores and I have a "click trail" option so I can see the 64. and 216. addresses that way. However it takes forever to click through all these trails to be able to see if I've been visited.

I also have a sitemeter account but when I download the .csv file it doesn't show these IP addresses at all for some reason.

So I have what is probably a dumb question. What log files are you guys referring to and how do I set up my site to generate a log file? I want to find a way to make it easier.

Also, when I go to Google and type in my www address, my index page comes up fine and I can see the discription from that page.

Then, if I click on "Find web pages that contain the term "wwWebmasterWorldebsite.com" I get tons of listings, but most don't have descriptions below them. It's been this way all month.

Should I expect this next dance to pick up the details? I've only had this site running since January.

Thanks in advance,
Christine

I don't know how Yahoo stores work, so I can't answer that question.

As far as the listings with no descriptions are concerned:

  • Make sure all pages have <title>Title of your page</title>
  • Make sure they all have meta descriptions

If those are in place, your descriptions will get included.

Oh yeah, Welcome to Webmaster World Christine

Thanks. Both of my stores are set up the same and the older one has been indexed, so this should be OK.

I guess I just need to wait and see.
