Is pagerank called so because of what it does or who thought it up? ;)

Also.. has this always been live? (never seen it before) [hci.stanford.edu...]

Did I read that right "The number of visits to a page is it's page rank" Is it me or does that change everything?

That's what it says, but that doesn't mean that is what it is. Read on to -

PageRank versus Usage Data

... there they outline using PageRank VS Usage Data. They outline privacy concerns, obscure items rarely accessed, and that usage is partly driven by poor search engines.

The last item is an interesting comparison.
