When calculating PR does google use the PR of the link page or the main page? If widgets.com/links.html has a PR3 but widgets.com has a PR7, would I even benefit from the PR7?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I cannot seem to find an answer!

PAGE rank

This PAGE links to that PAGE and passes on a portion of its PAGE rank. :)

In your example a portion of the PR3 would be passed on. The PR of any other page, homepage or otherwise, is irrelevant.
