I have a music site, and the problem is that when I do a search for a particular artist in the category that the artists belongs to, Froogle says it found nothing in that category. If I expand the search to all of Froogle, then the product is found.
I'm using the exact names that the music section uses for its categories. Why isn't Froogle putting my items in the correct category? Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.
Could it have some relation to the category structure on the front of the froogle site?
The categories there have id numbers assigned to them (...?cat=193 for Books Music & Video for example) - are you sure it's an alphanumeric field?
(And Welcome to WebasterWorld)
I then tried using the exact category names that Froogle uses. The only difference is that in my file, the names are all uppercase. Do you think their system is case sensitive? This is what I put in the category column for the Froogle category Soundtracks:
SOUNDTRACKS
I did this for a few days and still nothing. I was thinking about listing it just as it is listed on their site:
Froogle Home > Books, Music & Video > Music > Soundtracks
Do you think that would work?
I haven't tried using the category numbers yet. I was hoping someone on the board had more info before I start doing trial and error.
Thanks for the help and the welcome.
