My friends and I launched a web site in January.
It is basically a blog but we have a few contributors and the forums are pretty active. For a few days early this month we were showing up all over Google. I'm guessing it was no coincidence that it was soon after we got a link of another site.
But then we disappeared of Google completely despite the fact that our site is relevant, updated often and linked to by many other sites (though all of them are small as well.) Many other blogs that haven't been updated in years show up as Google results!
It is frustrating not showing up even when someone does a search for our domain name. Does anybody have any idea why this may be? Or any ideas for us?
I thank you all for your help and I apologize if this problem seems rudimentary.
