Google link:sitename Not Working

Why would Google not list the incoming links?

Like many others, I've been lurking here for sometime now. I've enjoyed reading the helpful topics, but have not found anything relevant to my question. I apologize if I have somehow overlooked the answer.

My site has been indexed within Google, ODP, and Yahoo since April of 2002. I have established links with other sites and those sites are also listed within Google. Upon doing a Google Contain Term site search "+www.site.+com" , the sites linking to mine show up just fine.

However, once I try using the Google Link To Search link:www.site.com/ Nothing can be found. I have submitted the sites to Google every month and the only results that can ever be found are those within the Contain Term Search.

I have checked other sites that are being linked to from the same pages, and they seem to come up within their own Link To searches.

The sites linking to me are using Direct Text Links, [site.com...] , not CGI scripts as some directories use.

Has anyone else heard of this problem? I am becoming frustrated, as no one seems to know why this is happening.

someone correct me if im wrong, but dosent the link:www.mysite.com only work if your indexed and have a pr of 4 or better

That is correct,G only shows 4+ link sites.

is it me or do they only do pr5 and up sites now?

i have one site i got to pr4 and it shows zero backlinks:

Your search - link:http://XXXXXXXX.com/ - did not match any documents.

Another site i have with a pr5 works just fine.

the pr4 has only had pagerank since the last dance..maybe that is why?

I think what they are saying is that Google only shows backlinks that have a PR4 or greater, not necessarily backlinks to pages that only have a PR4 or greater.
