How does Google like them?

Does anyone know whether or not Google cares about the themes that comes with Microsoft FrontPage? I was wondering if any of the extra "fluff" that goes with these themes hinders Googlebot or Freshbot any. Thanks.

Welcome to webmasterworld Master_Spas,

I think it will depend on the "theme" you use with frontpage. The rule of thumb is that googlebot is interested in your source code, i.e not what it looks like but the code that is used to make it.

Googlebot won't have any problems with "vanilla HTML"........though the "fluff" you mention can sometimes increase the amount of (unneeded) code needed.

I guess the best thing to do is look at the source code of your theme and see if you can "trim it", to make the code cleaner yet still retain the same look on your site.

Some people talk about text/code ratios...if you can keep your code ratio down then you shouldnt have to worry about the bot ands its impression of your code.
