I've had freshbot hit a tonne of sites I look after today... I have a "feeling" that its looking for last minute changes before the update begins. Of course it could just be paranoia :)

I can't wait :P

This month, I redid my dmoz description.

My site deals with Adobe PhotoShop, web design, and graphic design. I also have some free website templates.

I don't think I had any of those terms in my Dmoz description, so I'll be very interested to see what effect it has. :)

Yes, its felling like its going to happen soon, hopefully real soon. I got 3 domain names about to sign on and I can't wait to see how well they do. :)

something might be happening, unless this is "everflux"

use your favorite google dance website to check keywords
like "black" or "white" and when look down listings around 35-40

www-ex www-sj www-zu are all out of sync

That's weird! No 'fresh date' is listed, yet my 60 or so links that have been in for over a week ONLY because if the freshbot, have no date under them! Is it normal for the dates to go away just before they dance?

I've looked at them before, and I know they're different versions of Google (or the Google Directory), but what do "sj" and "ex" and "zu" stand for?

I am getting that update feeeling as well. Been quiet for 24 hours or so. No fresh tag.

I am leaving to Berlin for the weekend. It always happens when I am away from a computer to spoil my weekend ;)

Yes it is. But they may disappear of other reasons too!

> what do "sj" and "ex" and "zu" stand for?

Not sure, but I seem to remember that those letters are extracted from the names of the places where these datacenters are situated.

Right. I've noticed fresh tags usually diappear before the dance. However, this also seems to happen periodically for whatever other reasons.

It's starting to seem like it was during the last few days before the last update, similar tag and bot activity...

I'm ready, push the button GG.

"This month, I redid my dmoz description."

...does a high DMOZ ranking affect your google rank? Our site ranks #1 out of 228 result on DMOZ, but I have no reason to believe this benefits my google ranking.

I redid my Dmoz description so that words that were relevant to my site were in the desciption.

Hehe, when I was first starting, I got an email from a webby friend, saying "congratulations on getting into the ODP!" when I had actually just used a mass submission program, and had never heard of the ODP :)

Unsurprisingly, my description was small and irrelevant, so I freakin' changed it.

Your position in the directory is just another representation of your freakin' Google Pagerank. They don't affect each other, they're the same thing.
