Title tag

Just wondering.....is 6 words the limit?

Just wondering..... I used to use 8 words in my title tag, chock full of combos which mixed and matched. Now I use 6 words total which seem to work better. Also I noticed that keywords together are more important than ever. For example

<title>word word Keyword word word Keywords word word</title> used to rank just as high as

<title>Keyword keyword word word word word word</title>

In in experiences recently this has changed. Any one notice this? Im welcome some feedback, I know it is different for every keyword.

The proximity and word order of the words in the title certainly matters, but I don't think it's a recent development.

I prefer to think of page titles as phrases rather than word combinations.
