does it matter?

If there's a PR7 page with 400 links, but you are on or towards the top of the list, do you get a decent PR passthru?

Anyone done any testing on this?

I do not think it matters if you are tops or bottoms, as long as you are within the 101 kb size limit.

You will see varying opinions on what the PR should be on the recieving end.

The pagerank give-through will depend on if the page is a high or low PR7 page.

PR4 or 5 could be possible.

Check some of the 400 links and see what PR the lowest Pageranked page gives.
(the original page must be in its backlinks though)

If the page is larger than the 101 kb size limit, I think you can look at the cached page to see where the cut off is.

From a pure PageRank perspective, you will not get any extra benefit by being at the top of the list.

However, remember that the total PR a page has to give gets divided-up among all the outbound links. So you're not going to see any great benefit in being on a page with hundreds of outbound links, even if it is a PR7.

You would likely get more PageRank credit from being on a PR 5 page with only a few outbound links than a PR7 with 400!
