the /ie search was created so you could replace the sidebar search in IE with google

its been known about for years, this is old old news, no?

[webmasterworld.com...]

this one is more interesting [google.com...]

or fire up opera and go into [wap.google.com...]

HotBot until like last year or so used to have www.hotbot.com/text now its [hotbot.com...]

Does anyone know text interfaces to other engines, like alltheweb.com?

Could be, but this is the only one I know "text only" version.
Do a search and point your mouse on the search
result. You will see the whole entry now.
And hey, its fast!

Before I posted this message, I did a site search with no results.

Sorry guys, not my fault.

its great

[google.com...] - very useful in finding your sites rank.

ONE THING to note though ... it returns ALL results [doubles, etc]. The actual google.com search truncates a few here and there.

Jeffry, Google is sometimes better than the WebmasterWorld site search (sorry, brett) ...
Google [google.com] returns on #3 IE Google Panel? [webmasterworld.com] - a WebmasterWorld discussion from '01 ... ;)

Thank you ahmed. Maybe everyone else knew about this one, but I didn't. Seeing the whole ranked list at once gives me a much better feel for where I stand and what to work on next. Nifty!

And you can make it a top 10 or 20 or even a top 32 by changing the number in the url.

There is a site that has this baby google, but it displays www, www2, www3 and now .co.uk, .etc all next to each other..

Great for when google's dancing, cos you can compare and contrast :)

Am I allowed to post it? (It's not anything to do with me ;) ) .. maybe a'bdy knows about it already..

--

AFAIK the little text google is supposed to be launched with a link where TARGET="_search" in IE, then it'll pop up into the search frame on the left of the IE window..? .. that's why the links within the /ie results are all TARGET="_main" .. :) ..

ATB :)

<A HREF="http://www.google.com/ie" TARGET="_search">Go little google..</A>

AllTheWeb "naked" [alltheweb.com...]

seems like it would work well on a PDA as well
