Google- different listings for the same site?

Google lists a different title for my site, depending on what you search on

In google- when I search for some search terms I've targeted for my website... the listings in google come up different, (& with a different title).

For example- go into google and type in: <phrase 1>
My site will come up #1, and its title is the correct, and current title.

Now just search for: <phrase 2>
My site should come up #7- but its title is different than the one above (but the same exact URL).

If Google has updated my website, and listed the most recent version.. why does it show up in some searches, but others not.
Another thing, sometimes I'll type in a search term for my site, and my listing will show up in like #5.. but then when I press the search button a second time (for the same terms) it's #1. What causes this?

Titles look the same to me.
Snippets vary with the search query terms though.

You can see changes in Google search results more often though.

They can be related to Fresh listings, to update changes or maybe even to different Google data centers serving results.

BTW, welcome to webmasterworld, you may see the moderators prefer it if you describe search term results in more general terms and not related to your specific domain.

I agree with Vitaplease, while snippets change from search to search routinely, you may also find the title different when seeing Fresh listings for some searches but not others.
