I was driving this morning, and as usual listening to the completely mindless blabberings of some radio dj-s.

Somehow the topic of finding information came up and one was discribing how he found it. He connected to the Internet, the other DJ interrupted "yes, went to Google to search, then?" - but the person telling the story said - "No, I use Yahoo!"... Well, from 7am till 9am, the rest of the team was making fun of him, and people calling in were doing the SAME THING!

We talk about how Google might be so clear choice for us, but we are just as unsure how the general public views this SE. Well, the above gives a clear indication that even the mentally challanged people use Google.

Just as AOL was the "baby steps/neebie" for the Web users and was/is looked down on such users as unsophisticated, Yahoo! is earning the same title in the arena of search solutions...

I know what you mean, Tapolyai. It doesn't seem all that long ago that we knew Google was special, but the main reason for its Internet marketing potential was the Yahoo! deal.

If Yahoo! does switch in the future, it won't make a great deal of difference to me.
