Hi everyone,

Just a quickie. Does Google bot take the ALT tags of images as valid keywords to determine page content? I used a keyworld analyzer and it doesn't take in any of the ALT tags as keywords but when using this one: [searchengineworld.com...] it does. So im wondering if Google itself considers the ALT tags as an indicator of page content. If Google does or does not, is this typical of all major search engines?

Thanks for you help.

PS. i havent tried typing in URLs into this message body window before so im not sure what webmaster's world policy is. maybe they are removed so you wont be able to see the analyzers im refering to but the question remains.

thanks.

World Wide Wonder, take a look at this post: Google Ignoring ALT Attribute Text [webmasterworld.com]

It appears Google currently doesn't factor alt.txt in.
