what happens when website down during google crawl?

hi, what happens when my website was down during google
crawl does google come back or next month will i be dropped from the index?

I'm seem to remember reading a discussion on this. I think that googelbot will see that your site is down then come back to it several times before giving up totally. I don't know how long it waits or how many times it will try though.

A client's server went down just before a crawl. The site disappeared until the following crawl, after the site had been brought back up.

But even if your site isn't in the index, folks can still follow links from other sites to yours, and they can still access your site directly by typing in the url, if they know it.
<edit>Of course, that was a down server, so the IP address was considered "dead" as far as Google was concerned. That may have been part of the problem as to why the site disappeared.</edit>

so my website will probably get dropped, hahhhhhh
