My website has been online for many months now and I've submitted it many times to google, yet it isn't getting indexed. I think that my hardware firewall is blocking the port the webbot goes through. My question is what port does the web-bot/Spider crawl through?

port 80.
Googlebot doesn't go to a different port than a normal browser does.

Then does anybody know why the new websites I've added since i put my server behind my firewall haven't got index yet? It been there for months. Another site on the same server has been indexed. Is it because they are setup as virtual hosts in apache?

I only have port 80 open to the world

Hi dkswlhk,

Welcome to the board.

Googlebot follows links it finds on the net to discover and crawl new sites. In order to get your site listed in Google's index, you must get links from many other sites. Submitting to Google is useless.

Is your site listed in directories such as ODP, yahoo and the likes?
