I'd say sit back and relax. You should be fine in the next update.
I have gone through most threads on forums when one of my sites hit the PR0 rank. It has been five months now and the position has not changed. I have not cross linked. Just submission to directories. The tricks I tried were the noscript tag, listing all URLs where the site got submitted in the site ( just to help google find my links ) and of course a liberal dose of key words in the text. The PR bar shows a white band. I have even cleaned up some pages. MSN ranks the site ok and the site has been listed in Dmoz

Welcome to Web Master World! Do you have any backlinks? Does your site have a lot of pages? If there is hardly any PR coming in, and it is spread out over a lot of pages, the PageRank could be 0 without you being penalized. If you want, stickymail (click on the yellow envelope here left) me the URL of your site, and I will look at it.
DMOZ page with link to your site (PR5) didn't have this link in the previous cache of Google (Last update: December 25). In the new cache (Last update: January 7) the link is added.
When searching with www.google.com, your site shows 9 pages. With www2.google.com the number increases to 14 pages. When changing the hosts file, you can see the PR that the pages most likely will get after the update of Google that is now going on. Homepage is (PR3), although this is not visible because there is an automatic redirect to another page. Seven pages have PR1 and the last 6 have PR0. So there the site is not penalized.
Out of the 14 pages, 3 are double except for the filename, which start with a lower case or upper case letter. Please try to avoid this. Your incoming PR is now spread out over more pages. I also noticed there are some spaces in filenames in the SERP, but I could not understand why these spaces were added.
In a stickymail I will give you some more details.
