KW in DMOZ description seem to be....

heavily weighted.

When looking at the cache of one of the top results for website promotion 'country', you get "these terms only appear in links pointing to this page: promotion".
G doesn't show any links, and according to Fast it has just one, and the link text doesn't mention "promotion", however it does have a newish DMOZ listing with "promotion" in the description.

Y'all may have been aware of this, but I didn't realise that KWs in the DMOZ description carried quite so much weight (apparently).

Is it in the description or the anchor text, also they might be using cloaking.

Remember there is more than 100 factors in Google ranking, and they might match a lot the "on the page" factors.

I have also noticed this over last few months and went to the dmoz cat editor for a revision of description.

The kind chap accepted a revision and changed it so now just waiting for google to update from the rdf dump for the new descriptions - since old ones still showing. ;)

Lazerzubb,it's not the ranking question I'm particularly interested in, it's the way G seems to view and give weight to "promotion" in the DMOZ description.
As I mentioned, apart from the DMOZ listing Fast only sees one other link to the page, and "promotion" isn't on it.
