I'm completely baffled by why alltheweb the link function
works perfectly and not in google.com.
Is there a sensible reason why this is so, and the main question is how would you know when it would work in google.com.

How does it help google by not showing what sites are linked to you?

As alltheweb.com is turning out to be more useful than google right now for this type of think.

Is is possible to obtain a report on your current "Page Rank" is and how it is calculated? (i.e. from what links)

You can view your "toolbar PageRank" via the Google toolbar (http://toolbar.google.com)

Google seem to only show pages which have a PageRank of 4 and above using the LINK: commando, this doesn't mean that pages with less PageRank doesn't count.

But yes alltheweb.com is often more effective to see all the inbound links.

The Google link: function works fine, if your site is in the database. Try searching for this and you'll see what I mean:

link: cnn.com
