Hi all,

Just had Googlebot spider my site, being a site concerning Shockwave and Flash, it's got a lot of Shockwave\Flash and javascript plugin detection that is necessary to navigate some of the pages.

knowing spiders don't have Javascript, I put in lots of friendly <noscript> content, to direct web spiders around the site.

Googlebot came on sunday and indexed about two pages, it didn't travel down the <noscript> links at all. I might assume it was coming back to do the rest later, but on monday my site vanished from google so I'm assuming Google thinks my site consists of 2 pages :(

Is there any point in using <noscript> or does Googlebot just ignore content between those tags?

Thanks for any help

Matt

Google actually indexed some of the text in my <noscript> tags last crawl. A number of my results had browser detection notices showing up in the Description. As of this update, I am not noticing it.

It's supposed to be able to fully utilize the information in the noscript tags. See here: [webmasterworld.com...]
