Hi,

Anyone give me some advice or know anything for sure when it comes to inbound links that I place on my client web sites? These sites are ones that I create.
You know, at the bottom of the page I put:
Web Site Design - My Company Inc.

How Google does treat these links?

Now, with the following statements, how does Google treat these links?
1. Client web sites are ALL on same web hosting provider (ie. same IP)

2. link is on every page at the bottom of the page

3. link is the same link/text on all client's web site pages.

I'm guessing the answer will be or at least I should:
A. only have 1 link from my clients website to mine
B. use different servers/hosting providers/etc.
C. use different link text /link page on the sites

All of these take a lot of work to change :(

THANKS in Advance!

All the links you have are helping in some way. From each site, the link on the homepage is likely the majority of the benefit but I don't think it hurts to have the link on every page. They'll *all* show in G's backlinks if they have enough PR.

Don't worry too much on links from sites that share ip's. At the same time, I would encourage you to have at least some links from different ip's.

If you use the same link text on every client site, you reinforce that link text as relevant. If you use different link text, you'll improve on other keywords but potentially at the expense of the original.

You might try different link text on new sites instead of going back & changing existing links.

Good luck,
