google indexed my meta tag for description

hello, did anyone get this also.
my meta tag description that's what google indexed.

since when does google index meta tags?

my description looked kind of weird when i started reading
i noticed it was the meta tag.

It's been that way for a few months; if you do a search you'll find several threads on the topic. For example, from September: [webmasterworld.com...]

If you try different queries that will return your site, you'll probably see that you get the "traditional" snippets for some, but when the query matches the meta description they'll display that.

i checked again and it indexed the meta tag weird?
my other site i didn't put meta tags.

my website is designed with layers, would that be the reason and i check my htm code in notepad and the words in the description are only in the meta tag, nowhere else on page, not in a layer, because it has the word "soon" in the description and "soon" only appear once in my index.htm
and it's in the meta tag.

Is this a new google feature

Oh, i see sorry for posting then
i would of used meta tags months ago if i knew that.
