Server configuration, 302 redirect errors, and googlebot.

How picky is googlebot?

I recently put a new site on Sun Raq server and submitted the root url to google as domain.com without realizing that the configuration of the machine (not my machine) takes all requests for domain.com and redirects them to www.domain.com generating a (302 Moved Temporarily) error. Is this a problem? Should I resubmit the domain as www.domain.com to google so that when he/she comes to visit this new site these errors will not occur? Hopefully trying to set up this site so that google won't think I'm doing any unscrupulous redirection, or worse, cloaking with the intent of spamming.

awoyo,

As long as all of the links to your pages use "www.yourdomain.com/" in the URL, you should be fine - with or without "resubmitting."

This is a fairly common error in submitting, along with leaving off the trailing slash, so I can't see any "penalty" for doing it.

The problem, if any, would be from duplicate content. But you are not going to have that problem unless you actively promote two or more domains which lead to the same content. Just make sure that all links on your site and all or almost all links on other sites point to your "real" domain, resubmit the home page, and you'll be fine.

<great sigh of relief > I did take the initiative of changing my links to www.domain.com, as before I had them just pointing to domain.com. Thanks jd.
