I just noticed this, can anyone confirm?

E.g. a search for a pdf icon would be pretty straight forward and used to return lots of 16x16 gifs, but now all the images are a lot larger. Makes sence really, as most of the smaller images would be navigation/site design.

I'm not sure how they rank it, it probably has to do a lot with the text on the page, i think most 16*16 isn't the "most popular" image that people look for so i would say a value around 100*100 (bigger than thumbnail size in most cases) and up to 550*550.

But if you are really looking for something special i think you will chose the advanced search preferences where you can select different image sizes, and there i believe the "medium" size is around Width/height of 120 to around 450 pixels (all references above is pixels)
