Hi all,

In case of one of my customer, Google's Backward link SERP includes .swf file.

ex.) link:http://www.foobar.com
SERP includes
www.foobar.com/top_00.swf

Actually top_00.swf includes menu link to www.foobar.com inside Flash. Does this mean that Googlebot follows menu link inside Flash?

Anyone has another idea?

Thank you,
TrefoilSe

Check the Google Knowledge Library [webmasterworld.com]. It says Google will index URLs from flash files.

Thank you hakre and Sinner_G!

Flash version=5,0,0,0

Is this followable version for Googlebot?

Thanks,

TrefoilSe, yes, it is.

Hakre, could you tell us more about the urls in version 6? Or has it been discussed in another thread?

i don't know if it has been discussed in another thread, but if you look into a v6 file, you'll get only kinda random binary data (no plain text inbetween). till v5 you could even read text (and simply place a copyright notice in it for example) which is not possible in v6, too.

maybe this could extend the faq. and the cool flasher will never use v6 from now on ;)
