Google update - different types?

Is there different types of updates that google does?

Hi!

I've read about in this forum and everybody seems very happy when google does an update (I'm getting happy becuase everyone else is happy :). The google updates seems to happen not so frequently.

However, my webpages get updated at least once a week by google. That is: Googlebot comes around and fetches a new copy of my webpage.

Am I missunderstanding something here? When you talk about a google update does that include something else, like an recalculation of PR or index? Are there different types of updates?

we are talking about Google DANCE ... the surprice and joy is more than a simply freshbot update. :)
