What's going on with freshbot?

Fresh results with no tags for days

There have been fresh results in Google for days now, but no fresh tags. They did this during the update as well. Furthermore, some of the fresh results are showing up in Yahoo (although others aren't). Clearly something interesting is going on with freshbot. Any ideas?

My personal theory is that G is experimenting with freshbot in order to give more topical results. My guess is that they are trying to get it to the point where they can estimate both PR and relevance on the fly with their fresh listings, and then simply publish those results instead of labeling them as fresh. This would give new sites an enormous advantage, so it's fine by me! :)

I do not see any fresh results in Yahoo since the update- just the same original results

I definitely have pages which were not indexed during the update (I'm quite sure) which now show up in Yahoo.

Just checked Yahoo for pages that were added just a few days ago and they are showing.

I had 500 pages at update.. and now have 800.. no freshbot cache date and the new ones have been there for 4 days now! In fact, I haven't seen a fresh date since the 8th, which seems a lot longer than usual..

Fresh 13th now. And the number of fresh pages is slowly growing. Perhaps Google have finished the deep crawl and there is more capacity for freshbot?
