ya, there are all kinds of subdomains. w.google.com

The ww sub-domain was in all likelihood setup to catch web surfer who mistaken type it instead of www. Your logs show it because someone had mistyped it and then ran a search which led to your site. Either that or the ww sub-domain is Google's homage to Webmaster World for this great resource.

If this is about typos and they have ww.google.de then why not wwww.google.de

They have www.gogole.com too!
I see both ww.google.com and www.gogole.com pretty often in my logs. Damn, my visitors can't even type correctly... :)

Maybe they should get a PR penalty for duplicate content ;)

LOL. They do have a penalty for duplicate content - [gogole.com...] is not currently ranked by google

I'm surprised that they don't have every non-existent domain set to go to root.
