Submitting to Google is a waist of time. Get links from external external sites to a crawlable page and Googlebot will find all your pages all by itself.
Submit to directories like ODP and to this list :
[directory.google.com...]

If you feel you really need to spend that time submitting, go ahead. Or, you can just submit the home page and use the rest of the time for something more useful.
All you need to get into Google is for any site, anywhere, to add one link into your site. Google will find that link and spider your site.
Here's how I get my sites listed in all major US search engines:
After the ODP listing comes up, it propagates into all the other search engines over time. 6 months later it's in all of them, including Inktomi, Overture, and others that you supposedly have to pay to get listed in.
If you are in a big hurry, then go ahead and submit your home page to the SEs that still support page submissions. But put your emphasis on getting incoming links from other sites and on getting listed in ODP and other directories. Without any incoming links, your site may get dropped after awhile.
Submit is pretty much dead - But there are still a lot of companies charging to do it as if we were still in 1998...
Hope this helps,
Jim
