When you link to other pages in your site does Google take into consideration whether the links are:

../../filename.htm
or
[domain.com...]

If you mean does it understand where those links go then the answer is yes.

If you had both links pointing to the same file would Google know this? Yes, because to actually request they page they need to turn it into an absolute (in terms of the root of the site) path.

At this point since both URLs are normalized they will be the same url - therefore Google has a method of knowing that they are the same page.

Does either method have any deeper and meaningful significance to Google? Only Google can tell you that much, but it's very unlikely they would be treated differently.
