Google not indexing new site

Submitted a site three times, but still not in index

In October, I submitted a new site that we developed to Google. A month later, I checked and the site was not listed in the Google index, so I submitted it again. (most other sites I have submitted I have found them in the Google index the following month)

I checked again yesterday and the site is still not in Google's index, so I submitted it again.

My questions are:

- Why is this happening? Does a site need inbound links or something for Google to accept it?

- What do I need to do to get the site indexed?

Thanks for your help.

spinweb,

apart from your own submissions!

does the site have any inbound links (Dmoz, Yahoo etc)?

Yep, get links into it from other sites and stop submitting. Google will find it. Getting the site into Yahoo is a very fast way to get into Google and other SEs

There are no links from DMOZ or Yahoo. I will submit them to DMOZ right away. They don't want to pay the $299 subscription to Yahoo for now. Hopefully a link from DMOZ will help.

Thanks for your help.

spinweb,

DMOZ and Yahoo are good,

however any quality site linking to you will usually help you get indexed (ideally PR4 or more in my opinion).

Also are there NO resource/information sites in your industry, these usually have a good PR and will normally give a FREE link.

all the best
