Google negative view of Trusted Feed to other SE's

Any truth in rumour?

I've had it suggested to me that Google has a negative view of people who either use or supply Trusted Feed to other search engines - to the extent of blacklisting them within the GG index.

To me this sounds bizarre, and cannot see any reason or motivation behind it.

Its probably not true, but thought I'd mention it to see if anyone has heard anything along these lines.

Hi Adam_c, never heard of it. Where does this info come from?

Probably comes from this forum...from what I understand, Google has penalized (in terms of PageRank) some other firm(s) that work with trusted feed(s) / PFI for other engines.

Though of course, there could be some other explanation...it does look as though that is the way the game is played, however.

What a weird rumor. No truth to it--how would we even know who is paying other search engines?

Very strange one..

The only thing I can think of that would give credence to it, is the simple fact many of the xml feeds are -- shall we say -- spammy?

Welcome to the Google News Forum, Good_Vibes.

PFI [searchengineworld.com] is where you can pay to be included in the results. Trusted feed is where you can 'feed' pages to the engine without them having to be crawled (PFI sometimes uses trusted feeds).

Thanks CIML
So Trusted feed is like Overture and Google AdWords?
