Reciprocal linking to the Google directory

I just checked my category and was the only site doing this.

Is this good, bad or indifferent?

I always thought reciprocal was preferrable at ANY time?

Will it help your users? Will it help you? Or are you just sending your users into a category where there are better sites than yours?

My site's 'product' widget is only produced a few times a year. To get the product they have to appear 'in person' as the product is never delivered via the website. If they have a 'NOW' craving, linking to a source of satisfaction feels like a good thing to do. Part of building a good neighborhood thingie.

Plus it was an easy PR4 link ;)
