Allows you to preview pages.

Thats really cool - Can quickly scan to see if a site is of good or bad quality. Not sure of its potential for seo though?

Oh I really like this :) It did have some problems though. It displayed wrong pages for some of the results.

Thought I'd seen it in an earlier thread.
It's still a bit "labby". Not all pages load at the same speed, so what is too long on one page, isn't long enough on another.

Also, try it on a site that uses SSI or similar to construct pages. Seems to miss page content and formatting.

Another idea is to display 10 thumbs/screenshots from the first 10 in the serp, and so on. People can then decide not only on description but also on design/branding of a website. This might exclude spammy sites and by that give the visitor a better and more relevant result at the end.

Search Engine optimization is about marketing. And marketing is about understanding your visitor's needs - in relation to your service/product - wishes and try to give them the need to get your brand, product or service.

A positive about this is it bypasses all the popups that normally occur with certain search terms.

Given Google's stance on using software that automates searches, I'm surprised that Google has designed this. If someone ran a search on Google Viewer and left it running all day, it would just eat away at bandwidth and tie up the Google server, especially if they decreased the delay for each page displayed.

I left it running and it stopped for me at result 31. The search phrase had thousands of results.

Not sure of its potential for seo though?

I'd say the goal would be to have graphics and text that would come up fast and would show in the top part of the page exactly what your site is about. Something that would invite the visitor in in just 5 seconds.

Hmm, seems like that would be a good practice anyway.

I guess it's not exactly seo but it relates because if you are in the top 30 you would want to be the site people using this google function to decide to click on and visit for a while.
