Hello,
Google has my urls merged/combined.

If you type in "www.NewUrl.com" in Google Search Box

"www.Old-Url.com" comes up (this is an old url we don't use anymore)

======
link:http://www.NewUrl.com
link:http://www.Old-Url.com

The same results
======

I've tried everything to fix this since March 2002
1. HTTP 301 (permanent) redirects
2. delete old urls

Nothing seems to work.

At one time these urls shared the same store. This was not meant to Spam anyone.

We just could not find a good url for our type of business. Until we got
"www.NewUrl.com"

It's completely free of any Spam and has good links and content.

Any Ideas?
I don't know what else to do.

I also emailed Google and Got a canned message.

=======
Upon reviewing your url: www.NewUrl.com, it does not show any
penalties against it.

Already tried the removal.

I seperated my urls months ago.

Still could not get them un-merged.

We updated our links in OPD and Yahoo and have alot of good solid links to newurl.com

So, I removed all the old urls with Google removal tool.

Still did not have any luck and got a gray bar with newurl.com.
======

When you remove your urls, it's good for 3 months.

Time was up as of 12/27/02.

Well, urls are seperated and have completely diferent IP addresses. Google still has them merged.

Right now I have a 301 perm redirect on oldurl.com.

Don't know what else to do.

Afraid to remove ould urls again and get new url a grey bar for three more months.

Thanks.

Try to forbid Google to crawl www.Old-Url.com by robots.txt.

Same problem, worse luck: now that I finally got Google to get the new url, it thanked me with PR0! I've emailed help@google.com but no reply.

I suggest putting a page at www.Old-Url.com that does not duplicate www.New-Url.com, and linking from it to www.New-Url.com

At the second update, you should have no problem.

One really weird thing is:
Google was spidering my "Old-Url.com" and asking for pages that are ONLY in my "New-Url.com".

Google also shows these urls with the "old-url.com" domain url if I type
===========
www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&q=+site:old-url.com+uld-url
===========

into the Google Address Bar.

These urls are on completely different IP addresses.

Old-Url.com = 216.xx.190.204
New-Url.com = 66.xx.210.140

They have been seperated for about 6 months.

I have a lot of time any money invested in the "new-url.com" and this is killing us.

I would gladly pay google for some help!

They need some kind of review for website owners that need help, even if it cost us a fee.

I really don't think they read the help emails in detail, they just send you a canned reply.

Thanks.

Part of my last post did not show up correctly.

If I type in
=======
site:old-url.com old-url
=======
into Google it will list plenty of urls that are ONLY in the "new-url.com"

Google still has them combined and thinks they are ONE, even though they are completely separated.

I don't think that IP addresses or domains make any difference. If two URLs have identical content (or sometimes a redirect from one to the other), then Google might merge the URLs in their index.

If you put different content at each URL and wait one or two updates, then there should be no merging.

No dup content. And home page on old-url.com is very small with a link into the new-url.com.

Even more weird stuff:
If you go to my new-url.com, and click on the google tool bar to view "cached snapshop"
your see my old-url.com

Try it...
My website is in my profile.

Changing URLS is a timely task dont think your @ PR0 now. Make sure all the people who linked to your old url change their links to the new URL. Google takes time in this sort of matter but it will come through for you > SEO Fortune Cookie

That would be very strange. My suggestion is that you do this (and wait two updates) to fix the problem.

Yes, that's what normally happens when URLs are merged in Google due to duplication or redirection.

I've got a reply from a real person.

And from reading other post, it seems to me, that Google does not update IP# too often.

Hopefully, this will get fixed soon.

I'll post my results when it gets fixed.

Latest email response from Google.

================
They told me, my "NewUrl.com" is not available in the Google Index, because it is viewed as a redirect.

And told me to read the webmaster guidelines at
[google.com...] for further information.

After I have reviewed the information and I'm sure that my "NewUrl.com" complies with the guidelines, I can write them back and Google will resubmit my site for re-inclusion.
================

I really don't understand what they mean by My "NewUrl.com" is a redirect. It did share the same website as my "OidUrl.com" about 6 months ago. But it was never a redirect.

Obviously they did not view my "NewUrl.com".

My "NewUrl.com" is listed in Yahoo, ODP, Google Directory, and Google Ad Words and has a lot of good incoming links.

I emailed them this information. We will see. It takes them about a week to reply.
